Adrenaline Body Works: A Gym App for Check-In, Workouts and Leaderboards

A custom app for a local gym: one-tap check-in, workout logging, leaderboards and the class schedule, installable on a phone and running on the front-desk kiosks.

Problem

Off-the-shelf gym software is built for chains. A small training gym needed something its members would actually use between sets: check in without a login, log what they did, see where they rank, and know what's on today.

02

Approach

  • Made check-in one tap: members find their name and they're in, no password at the door.
  • Built goal and preference intake that takes about a minute from a QR code, with no app store install.
  • Added workout logging, personal records and leaderboards for 5-minute challenges and HYROX stations, with today, week, month and all-time views.
  • Shipped it as an installable web app, and ran the same app full-screen on the gym's front-desk kiosks.
03

Outcome

  • A live app at adrenalinebodyworks.us that members use for check-in, logging and the leaderboard.
  • The gym owns software built around how it actually trains, not a chain's feature list.
  • Changes ship to production on every push, so a request from the gym floor can be live the same day.
